STIRLING TASTES GOOD

Scotland is well known for its Whisky. While you’re here why not Experience the sights, smells and sounds of a true working distillery at Deanston. Or choose from over 120 malt whiskies at the Curly Coo – Stirling’s only Whisky bar. A selection of Scottish gins and Scottish craft beers are also available at this cosy pub. If you would like to learn the art of traditional brewing in Scotland pop along to the Allanwater Brewhouse where you can learn the secrets of making fine Scottish ales then refresh yourself with a pint.

When in season Scottish strawberries are a real treat. And you can make them taste even better by picking them yourself at Briarlands Farm. Or you can pick up a punnet at the local farmers market. You really have to experience a farmers market to see Scottish produce at its very best. Held in the city center on the second Saturday of every month, it’s the ideal place to discover unique and artisan goodies, from wine to game meats.  Buy direct from the producers, who are always more than happy to answer any questions and share hints and tips on how to cook and serve their produce to perfection.

If you miss the farmers market you can always pop in to a local deli to buy some fantastic local products. Doune the Deli specialise in fine food and drink from around the world. But also stock a selection of local produce such and beers and jams.  If you’re feeling hungry you can also grab freshly made cakes and sandwiches to take away. Another great place for food on the move is the Loving Food Truck Stirling’s (and Scotland’s) first quality street food vendor serving fresh local food and friendly banter from their vintage 1971 Citroen H Van near Stirling train station.

Stirling and the surrounding area also offer a great mix of relaxed restaurants and authentic bars and cafes, perfect for shoppers and sightseers. Some great options are Hermann’s Restaurant serving a delicious mix of Austrian and Scottish dishes in Stirling’s old town. Or pop in toDebenhams Cafe and Restaurant to fuel a busy days shopping. The Kilted Kangaroo a popular Aussie themed bar serving up fresh, high-quality pub food at great value. And Cooks of Stirling which offers seasonal dishes using fresh, locally sourced produce.Café Continental located in the heart of Dunblane’s historic High Street, it’s the restaurant of choice for residents and visitors

If you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a more upmarket dining experience then why not try The Kailyard by Nick Nairn Restaurant where you can savour signature dishes by a Michelin star chef. Located in the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Dunblane. Or For a special treat visit the Chez Roux restaurant at Cromlix hotel , overseen by the legendary French chef Albert Roux and run by award-winning executive head chef Darin Campbell.
